Kultur 4

All of the Kultur articles were very interesting for this chapter, though they all covered aspects of German culture that were fairly unsurprising, except for the two articles on nudity which I was not expecting. For some reason I guess I just always thought that part of being very rule conscious and straightforward would include being properly covered, even at the beaches. However, after further consideration I realized that I probably shouldn't have been surprised at all; Germans are so straightforward and logical that a hangup about ones own personal stature would seem petty to them. I also thought the line about how nudism is decreasing as waist lines are increasing was interesting and possibly accounts for some of the US's general distaste for nudity in public.
